Kidnapped Afghan politician recovered from Peshawar

PESHAWAR (Staff Report) – Around two weeks after his disappearance the noted Afghan politician Fazlullah Wahidi has been recovered from Peshawar where he was handed over to Afghan diplomats.

Wahidi, who previously serviced as Governor of Afghan provinces of Kunnar and Harat, was kidnapped by unidentified people while he was strolling in sector F-8 of Islamabad.

He was residing in Islamabad along with several other relatives since last month in a bid to seek visa from British Embassy. It is not clear that why he opted to obtain visa from British Embassy in Pakistan instead of Afghanistan.

The factors behind his sudden disappearance and recovery have not been disclosed to media yet. The police officials also refused to comment when asked if any suspect involved in kidnapping was also arrested or not.
