ISLAMABAD – The mother of later Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif, Mrs. Riffat Ara Alvi, has passed away after a prolonged illness, the family members said Sunday.
Ms Alvi was ill for some time and breathed her last today, leaving behind a family still mourning the tragic loss of her son.
Details regarding the funeral prayers and burial arrangements will be announced later, according to family members.
Mrs. Riffat Ara Alvi was deeply respected for her strength and patience following the tragic killing of Arshad Sharif in Kenya in 2022, which had shocked the nation. Her passing marks another moment of sorrow for those who continue to remember the late journalist and his family.
