ISLAMABAD – The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar expressed his anger, without any hesitation, when a lawyer referred to Indian laws during the hearing of a case.
Faisal Naqvi advocate while pleading his case regarding the custody of a kid on Friday, alluded to the paper book comprising verdicts handed down by Indian courts, however, the top judge took a strong exception to the move and threw away the material.
‘Pakistani laws have matured, verdicts and laws of India should not be quoted before the Supreme Court of Pakistan’ remarked the top judge in strongly-worded remarks.
Mian Saqib Nisar continued that only the judgments announced by Pakistani courts should be furnished as a reference, citing that they were drafted in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
‘Pakistani and international laws don’t match’ observed the chief justice and questioned whether the lawyer was ignorant of legal procedures.
