LAHORE – Last week, the human rights activist and lawyer, Jibran Nasir had posted the video of a rape victim from Lahore which garnered a lot of attention on social media.
The victim in a poor mental and physical state named local influentials from Punjab who allegedly raped her, paraded her naked on the streets, put her husband in jail, and were issuing further threats. The woman desperately appealed to Chief Minister Punjab for her and her children’s protection.

According to the reconciliation statements, the rape victim has allegedly forgiven the abusers, and the case is closed. The reconciliation statements received further backlash.
In response to the case’s verdict, Mawra Hocane had expressed her disappointment and anger over the very favourable turn of events for the alleged rapists. She stated that it was a “ridiculous and irresponsible response”.

The Aangan star had emphasized taking strict action against the rapist and to properly investigate the case. Mawra Hocane has recently graduated as an Advocate from London along with fellow artist Uzair Jaswal and we are glad to see the artist cum lawyer raising her voice against the injustice.
