ISLAMABAD – Reacting to the speculations regarding the secrecy of meeting between prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Indian steel magnate Sajjan Jindal, Maryam Nawaz clarified that there was nothing ‘secret’ about the meeting.
Maryam took to Twitter on Thursday, hours after television channels reported that a meeting took place between Sajjan Jindal and premier Nawaz Sharif in Murree after the former arrived in Islamabad on a private jet.

Through a tweet, she expressed that Jindal was an old friend of the premier and the meeting should not be blown out of proportion.

It bears mentioning that a report aired on ARY News suggested that Sajjan Jindal along with his two friends arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday after taking off from Kabul. The trio then went to Murree where they called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, successfully avoiding the media spotlight.
Not only that, a picture of Jindal’s passport showed that the Pakistani visa was issued to him on April 25 for 10 days. Despite being granted a visa to travel to Lahore and Islamabad only, the Indian delegation met the prime minister in Murree, apparently bypassing the visa restrictions.
Jindal’s interaction with premier Nawaz Sharif is being considered something of an extraordinary importance citing the recent developments including death sentence to RAW spy Kalbushan Jadhav and the confessional video of TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan in which he categorically admitted links of the militant group with Indian spy agency RAW.
