Man who instigated violence against Ahmadis in Faisalabad arrested

ISLAMABAD – The person who instigated the violence against the Ahmadis in Ghassetpura, Faisalabad has been arrested along with his accomplice, private news channels reported on Tuesday.

Earlier, on Friday there was a brawl leading to arm clash erupted over a cock-fighting among two groups. One of the groups of young men consisted to Sunni sect of Islam while the other comprised Ahmadis – who are declared non-Muslims in the Constitution of Pakistan.

Both groups resorted to aerial firing resulting in forearm injuries to two Ahmadis, and four Sunni Muslims and minor baton/brick injuries to four others.

Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen on Friday condemned mob violence that took place in Faisalabad over a cock-fighting. She said “our commitment to the protection of the rights of all citizens remains a priority. Mob violence in all forms is unacceptable.”

DSP Khurialawa Circle and SHO Bluchni also reached there upon receipt of information and tried to control the situation and took legal action and other preventive measures.
