Indian Filmmaker Nandita Das set to attend PiFF in Karachi

 

KARACHI: A-list Indian film-maker, Nandita Das who has around 40 films under her belt will be in attendance at the first Pakistan International Film Festival (PiFF) which is taking place from the 29th of March to the 1st of April in Karachi.

Apart from Nandita, the guest list includes our own filmmakers and directors such as Asim Raza and the likes of Harsh Narayan, Anjum Rajabali and Rashid Khwaja who will be speaking at the event sessions which will be moderated by Asif Noorani

The aim of the four-day festival is to gather emerging and established film-makers and hold a series of workshops and film screenings. According to Director PiFF, Abrarul Hasan the schedule of the event consists of feature length films, documentaries and short films, as well as seminars and workshops on topics like the use of film as a medium of social change.

Some of the films that will be screened include Bollywood films such as Dear Zindagi, Baahubali and Saba Qamar’s Hindi Medium will be screened at the festival.

He also added that the organization has received film submissions from 43 countries and that further information will be available on the festival’s website on January 31, 2018.
