Pakistan wins Global Innovation Competition 2016
ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistan has been declared winner in Global Innovation Competition 2016 held in Accra, Ghana.

According to the details, Making All Voices Count (MAVC) launched third Global Innovation Competition to find the best ideas emerging across Africa and Asia.

MAVC got 420 proposals from techies, civil society groups, businessmen and ordinary people - and more than 30,000 public votes and a panel of expert jury, helped in deciding who went through to the finals.

A total of 15 teams made it finalist's week in Accra, Ghana after rigorous iterations. Pakistani team was led by a dynamic social accountability guru, Gulbaz Ali Khan who is Chief Technical Advisor-Centre for Inclusive Governance (CIG).

He declared winner in the list of nine. He received winning award from Minister of Communication, Ghana.

Pakistan was represented by two young professionals, Inline image a dynamic social accountability guru, Gulbaz Ali Khan, Chief Technical Advisor-Centre for Inclusive Governance (CIG), conceptualized Rural Road Community Monitoring Project (RRCMP) that tries to address the issues of transparency and accountability around large road projects in rural areas by making citizens an integral part of the system.

Goal is to visualize promises and spending against action and results, making government more accountable to citizens on construction spending, and providing an easily accessible data resource for the wider civil society and media.

This innovation will be piloted on the ongoing mega multi-billion Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Road Project of Punjab government.

The second project was presented Javed Liaqat, a public financial management specialist, conceives iBudg IT: Inclusive Citizenry project that would help all community members log their budget priorities and complaints in a government-led Budget Model System.

Euro's buying rate moves up to 294.3 and selling rate is 297.75 while British Pound rate is 350 for buying, and 353 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED was at 75 and Saudi Riyal increases to 73.15.
