Grand Wrestling Season 2018: 25 Int’l wrestlers to visit Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – As many as 25 international wrestlers from 20 countries including USA, UK, Germany, France, and Belgium will visit Pakistan in August for the Grand Wrestling Season 2018 to be held in different cities with an aim to promote the image of Pakistan as a sports-loving country.

The trip is being organized by a wrestling company called Ring of Pakistan (ROP), said a press release received here from London on Saturday.

Some of the wrestlers, from the group of 25, visited the High Commission. Welcoming the wrestlers, High Commissioner Sahebzada Ahmed Khan commended their efforts and passion to promote wrestling in Pakistan.

He expressed hope that with the advent of international wrestling in Pakistan, the traditional sports would be revitalized and would provide a healthy activity for the youth of Pakistan.

The High Commissioner also appreciated the initiative of ROP to take to wrestlers to Pakistan. He also assured the organizers of all possible support for the event. He said he was supporting Team UK and if they win, he would receive them at the airport.

He said after successful completion of the general election, Pakistan was poised to become an even more vibrant and stronger democracy. The wrestlers were accompanied by Imran Shah and Dr Ejaz Hussain of ROP.
