LAHORE – Tigers are an endangered species as less than 4000 tigers are remaining in the world which is a ridiculous number. The world is in awe of tigers but are unable to keep them safe from the menace.
Veteran actor Jahan Ara has boasted of killing tigers with her husband while going for hunting. In an interview that was aired earlier on a tv channel, Ara claimed to have been driving the jeep from which her husband shot a tiger.
She admitted that she was never afraid “because she had a gun”.
The interviewer at one point was seen holding a tiger’s head in her hand that Ara treated as a trophy.
Social media is offended with the glorification of hunting animals. The hunting sessions were heard about as if they were achievements of the actress. At one time, she was hunting a leopard. Her husband fired several shots only to speed off and return and find the big cat “while it was still warm”. She confessed, “they picked it up, took photos, and gave its meat to the locals for their children”.
Social media wonders why this content was aired in the first place. Animal lovers feel like their sentiments have been kept out of consideration.
