ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan has forwarded a formal reference to Iran requesting an assistance in investigation of RAW’s -the Indian intelligence agency- interference in Pakistan using Iranian soil and presence of Indian spies at Chabahar port.
The letter, which has been forwarded by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to his Iranian counterpart, comprises of six sections including a request of information about activities of detained RAW officer Kulbhushan Yadav while he was residing in Tehran.

Islamabad has further requested Tehran to arrest another RAW official, Sub Inspector Rakesh Ilyas alias Rizwan, who is working at Iran’s Chabahar port as a business man and was responsible for provision of ground support to Kulbhushan Yadav, and hand him over to Pakistani authorities.
The letter also urged Iran to help Pakistan in identification of local network of Indian agents and their activities that pose direct threat to stability of Pakistan. Pakistan also wants Iran to share information about Indian businessmen working at its soil.
The matter related to arrest of RAW officer Kulbhushan Yadav was taken up in the recent meeting between Pak-Iran Interior Ministers, at which Iranian Home Minister asked Nisar Ali Khan to send an official reference to Tehran in this regard. Iran will only address Pakistani concerns about RAW’s presence at Chabahar port if Islamabad would formally raise this issue with Tehran, he said.
Last week, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti had informed the newsmen that the captured RAW officer was active in Balochistan with an aim to destabilise Pakistan. Maps of different installations and sites were also recovered from his possession.
The minister did not reveal the location of Bhushan’s arrest. However, sources said that Bhushan was arrested from Chaman area of Balochistan, which is close to the Afghanistan border.
Resident of Mumbai, Bhushan Yadavis got commission in Indian Navy in 1991 and was working under the name of Hussain Mubarak Patel.
Yadav joined the Research Analysis Wing in 2013, before he served the Indian naval intelligence in the past.
He many a times sneaked into Balochistan via Iran’s port Chahbahar, on Iranian visa. His passport number is L9630722 that also mentions his date of birth, April 16, 1970. His father’s name is Sudhir Yadav, and his two children and wife live with his parents in Mumbai.
During preliminary interrogation, the India spy confessed to have been in contact with separatist groups and religio-militant organisations operating in Karachi and Balochistan.
Kulbhushan Yadav also confessed to security agencies that he was hosted in Kabul by Afghanistan’s intelligence agency, National Directorate of Security. A senior officer of Afghan intelligence agency had arranged his meeting with Baloch separatist Dr Allah Nazar.
Pakistan has repeatedly alleged that Indian spy agencies have been providing support to militants in Balochistan and other sectarian extremists.
In the past Pakistan had provided proof of Indian support of terrorism to the Indian authorities in a high-level meeting at Sharm-el-Shaikh, and also provided proof of the same at the United Nations more recently.
Meanwhile Pakistan has also issued a confessional video of Indian spy, in which he clearly admitted to running a network of spies and insurgents in Balochistan and other provinces of Pakistan. He was being handled by the RAW chief, the Indian National Security Adviser -who also served as RAW chief earlier- and the Indian joint secretary, according to Pakistan Army spokesman.
“Kulbushan Yadav’s main goal was to disrupt implementation of the historic China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, with Gwadar port as an extensive target of activities,” Lt-General Asim Saleem Bajwa said while adding that “this is nothing short of state-sponsored terrorism… There can be no clearer evidence of Indian interference in Pakistan.”
In the confessional video, Yadav also confirmed that he had joined India’s National Defence Academy in 1987 ahead of joining the Indian Navy in 1991. “I am still a serving officer in the Indian Navy and due to retirement in 2022… After having completed 14 years of service,” he stated claiming that the statement was being recorded on his personal will without any pressure of Pakistani authorities.
