5 fashion trends from 2018 that need to disappear in 2019

It’s safe to say that 2018 was a baffling year for fashion. Designers and celebrities embraced trends that seemed more gimmicky than innovative. We saw a revival of ’90s trends (flared pants, chokers, band T-shirts), and also witnessed the birth of new trends (head-to-toe animal prints, micro mini sunglasses, micro bags, neon outfits) that earned immediate approval from the fashion fraternity. Such is the transitory nature of a trend in fashion that as soon as its popularity boosts, the slightest presence of an exaggerated item instantly puts you off it. Below, see popular trends from 2018 that we do not want to carry forward to the New Year.

Micro mini sunglasses

Last year small sunglasses became the predominant trend for Instagram lovers everywhere. From Priyanka Chopra Jonas to Kendall Jenner, this trend has been followed all over the globe. These tiny glasses do guarantee a statement addition to your outfit, but not every look demands an exaggerated accessory. It’s an impractical trend that should go back to the ’90s where it came from.

Monochromatic outfits

This trend left red carpets and street style a bit predictable. Matching separates made it simpler to embrace fashion’s love of bright colours in 2018, but the trend lost its glamour — and distinctiveness — over time. We are definitely over these!

Sock boots

The sock boot trend became popular when athleisure met sophistication to design a shoe alternative for evening wear that was equal parts sporty and elegant. They have recently stopped trending so now’s a good time to start retiring the trend from your wardrobe.

Cold shoulder tops and dresses

Another trend that we’ve grown sick off! No matter where you shop, you’ll notice the excessive number of tops and dresses presenting the familiar cut-outs—resulting in the kind of tediousness that appeases nobody. They have been trending since 2017 and its time to shut your closet doors to them.

Furry footwear

Throughout 2018, we have promoted ugly footwear-pool slides, dad sneakers, grandmom sneakers—the works. However, fluffy faux shoes have been a trend more prominent then required. While the slip-on style seems to be very comfy, this creation is being shunned by many!
