LAHORE- Women’s empowerment is a complex process having multiple dimensions which are economic, social, cultural and political.
Pakistan’s women development model is very much a work in progress where deep-rooted challenges remain but in the past few months, Pakistan has come about an overwhelming change when you talk about women empowerment, rights activism, be it on a professional or personal level. Women across the country have greater involvement currently with the use of social media and digitalization.
KFC Pakistan has shown immense strength of individuality and support towards empowering women in a respective manner, giving Pakistani women a wonderful opportunity to provide for their families alongside inspiring others across the nation.
Asma Rani, Bisma Mujahid, Beenish Maria and Sadia Eida are four young women who make up Pakistan’s first all-female food delivery crew known as the “Dame Riders”.
For the last two months, the crew of KFC fast-food chain can be seen driving around in Lahore on their custom-made, soft tea-pink scooters. The girls are wearing fluorescent pink helmets with bright red windbreakers.
People have appreciated KFC’s initiative and highly support this change:
