KARACHI – Pakistani TV star Mohsin Abbas Haider is among many celebrities who have called out Lux Style Awards for not nominating his drama Meri Guriya for any awards.
Meri Guriya highlighted how rampant child abuse is in Pakistani society and how paedophiles get away with these crimes. The drama was being co-produced by Fahad Mustafa and Ali Kazmi under Big Bang Entertainment and starred Sania Saeed, Sonya Hussain and Haider.

Haider took to Facebook to call out the organisers for not including Meri Guriya in the nomination list. Here is the post by Na Maloom Afraad actor:
He called the lack of a nomination very disrespectful for the whole team. “And thanks for making my belief more strong that let’s just make money and run our kitchens,” he said at the end of his note. Meri Guriya was a social project aimed at raising awareness about child abuse and was not meant to make money.
No only Mohsin Abbas, many other showbiz people have also expressed distress against the national awards for their concerned matters including Shani Arshad, Ahsan Rahim and Eman Suleman, Humayun Saeed and Ali Gul Pir.
Social media celebrity Ali Gul Pir has expressed disappointment over the selection of an accused harasser for various nominees in his post and he has even boldly mentioned the name of the celebrity in his post.

Whereas, JPNA main role actor Humayun Saeed has not shown disappointment but has congratulated his fellow actor in his Insta post. Saeed had mentioned in his post that “I wasn’t nominated but I don’t find anything wrong with the LSA nominations. As far as JPNA2 is concerned, no one else deserved the Best Actor nomination other than Ahmad. I hope you go on to win it!”

The famous director Ahsan Rahim is nominated for his film Teefa Inn Trouble in the Best Director category, he expressed his disappointment after seeing that his film’s music did not get the recognition it deserved. He termed it ‘discrimination and a biased’ decision in a Twitter post.

After the OST of drama, Koi Chand Rakh was not announced as a nominee for Best Original Sound Track, the composer of the song Shani Arshad shared his thoughts on Twitter and said that the jury should do thorough research beforehand as the LSAs are the highest media fraternity honour in Pakistan.

Nominated under the Best Emerging Talent in the Fashion category, budding model Eman Suleman has boycotted the awards saying she doesn’t want to share an LSA nomination with someone who has been accused of sexual harassment.
