Hardik Pandya is finally fined for his sexist comments on Koffee with Karan couch

LAHORE – Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have been directed to contribute INR 20 lakh (USD 30,000 approx.) each to charity by BCCI ombudsman Justice DK Jain “in order to purge” their “collective indiscretion” on a talk show where they made controversially and offensive comments.

Hardik and Rahul have already missed five ODIs each as a result of a provisional ban slapped at the time, pending inquiry. Hardik subsequently made his comeback in the ODI series in New Zealand in January, while Rahul was drafted back into the side during the home T20Is against Australia in February.

“I have no hesitation in observing that being an active participant in the show, in which certain unpalatable remarks/comments were made, even by his own admissions, he also offended sensitivities, which ought to have been avoided,” Jain said in his order posted on the BCCI website.

“Hence he must make amends.”

On Koffee with Karan when Karan asked them who gets more distracted by the cheerleaders and Hardik came clean saying “baad mein milna hai tou abhi kiun phir?”

Since its airing, the episode has been called out by multiple people on social media, over the sexist and misogynist nature of the conversations.
