ISLAMABAD – The federal government has decided to move the Supreme Judicial Council against the judge who had authored the detailed verdict in the high treason case against the former army chief Gen Pervez Muharraf.
Law Minister Farogh Naseem said that the government will approach the SJC for the restraining of and subsequent removal of Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth.
Seth, in the detailed judgement, has directed “the law enforceament agencies to strive their level best to apprehend the fugitive/convict and to ensure that the punishment is inflicted as per law and if found dead, his corpse be dragged to the D-Chowk, Islamabad, Pakistan and be hanged for 03 days”.

The detailed order was issued earlier in the day and it was widely censured by armed forces, lawyers community and members of civil society over use of hard words.
The law minister also termed the observation of the judge as “unprecedented, despicable and wrong”.
