The death toll from the coronavirus pandemic has risen to 5543 around the world.
According to official tally, a total of 3,189 people have died in China, followed by 1,266 in Italy, and 611 in Iran, the three countries with the highest number of deaths.
Since COVID-19 was first detected in December last year, 72,572 people were recovered out of 148,051 cases in 149 countries and territories around the world.
