Indian Air Force(IAF) objects to Anil Kapoor s Netflix movie AK vs AK

INDIA: Indian Air Force(IAF) demanded the withdrawal of a few scenes from an upcoming Netflix movie AK vs AK on Wednesday in which veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor dressed in military uniform uses offensive language.

AK vs AK is a mockumentary starring Anil Kapoor playing an actor depicting an officer alongside director Anurag Kashyap. It is all set to be released on Netflix later this month.

Previously, Tezaab star tweeted a trailer for the film in which he appears bedraggled in a uniform and swears at the 48-year-old director Anurag Kashyap who is rarely seen on camera.

The IAF tweeted on their official account responding to the video:

“The IAF uniform in this video is inaccurately donned & the language used is inappropriate. This does not conform to the behavioural norms of those in the Armed Forces of India. The related scenes need to be withdrawn. @NetflixIndia@anuragkashyap72 “

Kapoor and Netflix India were quick to apologize stating the film did not intend to disrespect the Indian Air Force.

Taking to his Twitter account, the 63-year-old superstar released a video apologizing for unintentionally hurting sentiments of the IAF:

“I truly apologise for unintentionally hurting anyone’s sentiments. When he finds out that his daughter has been kidnapped, the anger and rage he experiences and portrays are that of an emotionally distraught father…. It was never my intent or the intent of the filmmakers to disrespect the IAF,”

Recently, Netflix has faced two legal challenges in India for a Bollywood film depicting a female Air Force officer and a series on four Indian tycoons facing fraud allegations.
