Intel Peace Day: Kashmiri children ask India to stop killings of innocent people along LoC

BAGH,MUZAFFARABAD (Staff Report) – On World Peace Day children in Azad Jammu and Kashmir urged India to stop killing innocent civilians along the Line of Control(LOC) here on Monday.

A peace rally was arranged by Press For Peace and READ Foundation School to celebrate International Peace Day.

The children displayed banners in favour of peace and condemn war and terrorism. They also raise slogans to support peace, harmony and love.

They also paid tribute to the victims of terrorism in Pakistan and Indian held Kashmir.

Prominent peace campaigner Yousaf Kashmiri, educationalist Imran Gillani, Zahid Ahmed and others spoke on the occasion.

The speakers condemn the killing of a child in an encounter in Kashmir. The speakers said the permanent violence is the main obstacle in the progress and prosperity of people, mainly youth and children.

“Our new generation has lost the future because the forces of occupation, aggression and violence have abused the basic human rights in Kashmir,” they added.

Yousaf Kashmiri, a senior official of Press For Peace (PFP) demanded that tensions along the Line of Control must be stopped in order to save the innocent lives of civilian people.

He also criticised the government for ignoring the plights of the people affected in recent cease fire violations on the LoC.

Similarly, in Muzaffarabad, protest rally was taken out against Indian firing on Line of Control (LoC) and Badaber attack.

AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed led the rally attended by a large number of people.

The protesters also raised slogans against the ban of beef and cow slaughter in Indian held Kashmir.
