Lahore (Web Desk) – A few weeks ago when Asif announced that his friendship with Mudassir was over, the whole world was shocked. If not Asif and Mudasir then who? A lot of people on social media asked. Many losing faith in existance of love itself.
But today is a historic day for friends everywhere, Asif and Mudasir are back together again. Around 8PM on 16th Oct, 2015, Asif and Mudasir both put up a photo making the historic announcement in a way only they can.
“Your ego seeks conflict; it loves nothing better than to win battles for you, sadly as it wins, you often lose respect and friendships. If you wish problems to persist, keep blaming everyone and everything but yourself, for he who persistently blames and criticise only fans the flames of hatred and controversy…….so from now Mudasir Ismail Ahmed and SAlman AHmad Naqash both are my best friends,” wrote Asif.
Is this the same Asif who only a few weeks ago ended his friendship just because his friend was too proudy? No, what the world is seeing here is a more mature, grown-up Asif. Asif who has finally seen how the world works and has finally realized what is important in life.
Similarly, Mudasir is full of wisdom too. “Hurtful words can cut deep. But the deepest cut isn’t really the hurtful words at all, but rather the lost relationship and love if you choose not to put the past to rest and begin fresh……so from now all quarrel with Asif Raza Rana is ended now, and we are again best friends forever.“
This is the same man who, on 11th October had announced his best-friendship with Awais Jutt. The very same day, he had announced his intention to seek revenge on Asif, but all that seems so long ago now.
If we just give peace and friendship a chance, the world can change overnight.
A week ago there was great chaos in both #TeamAsif and #TeamMudasir camps. Asif had announced the formation of #AsifArmy, a full fledged militant force to combat Mudasir and his supporters online. He had met with Modi and walked with lions in South Africa to garner support, with photos to prove it.
Mudasir’s camp was up in arms too. To consolidate his territory he posted a heartfelt plea:
“Is it pride that I can’t meet my best friend ?
Is it pride that my job doesn’t allow me free time ?
Or is it Asif’s pride, that all men are not under his foot at all times ?
Or that all men aren’t a slave to his wanton desires ?
I urge the reader to listen to my side of the story, I was never proud, and even at this moment urge Asif to forget the differences and begin anew, but does he listen ?
He is a hypocrite, and his hypocrisy is visible on his ID itself, ‘Friendship is not a toy’, wise words from a man who doesn’t understand them.
This is my defence, #TeamMudasir, for those who can see my truth.“
In an extraordinary event that reminds us of the fall of Berlin Wall, overnight, the problems that seemed unsolvable yesterday have vanished. That is the power of friendship, and a beautifully made graphic posted on social media.
In a world where each is at war with another, where Russia and America are back again on a path to confrontation, where Iran and Saudi Arabia are deeply involved in proxy wars of epic proportions, where arming rebels and terrorists is as fashionable in the east as in the west, Asif and Mudasir’s example shines bright in the general darkness.
Why can’t ISIS, Syrian Rebels and Assad post a photo on Facebook, “Friendship Regained, now we all are best friends”?
Why can’t Putin and Obama hug it out and post a tastefully photo-shopped photo, “Best friends 4ever”?
King Salman and Khomeini? North and South Korea? Pakistan and India?
Maybe Ban ki Moon should invite Asif and Mudasir for a joint address to the United Nations. It is being speculated that a lot of backdoor diplomacy has gone into making Asif and Mudasir friends again, those diplomats should also be recognized internationally.
However, there still remains one loose end. Now that Asif and Mudasir and Salman are all best friends, what will happen to Awais Jutt?
