LAHORE (Web Desk) – The month of March has begun with heavy rains in all major cities of Pakistan. Rains started pouring since the early hours of 1st March and it has been drizzling all over Pakistan.
According to the Met Office, a total of 21-millimeters rain was recorded in Lahore by 11:30 pm.
Other areas in Punjab have also received heavy showers. These rains are not unusual since Winter returns before Spring shows its full bloom as has been observed in many occurrences.
The rains in March are always a pleasant welcome for the general people rather than taken as nuisance. However, it is the poor people in low-lying areas who always suffer compared to others.
The government needs to address the issue of low-lying areas and better sewerage planning measures need to be adopted.
