Wearing of ‘hijab’ by Muslim lady makes Canadian Judge refuse hearing

MONTREAL (Web Desk) – A female judge in Montreal, Canada, refused to hear the case of a Muslim lady just because she was wearing ‘hijab’.

Rania Alalook narrated that she had gone to court for the recovery of her car which had been confiscated by the government. However, she was shocked when the judge refused to hear her case due to wearing of ‘hijab’ by her.

The judge said that the woman was not wearing a proper dress for coming to court. She gave a strange reasoning that just like wearing of hat or sunglasses was forbidden inside courtroom, similarly wearing of ‘hijab’ was also not allowed.

It is surprising that the judge equated the apparel worn for fashion purposes with garb that accentuates religious and moral concerns.

We have already witnessed the ban on ‘hijab’ in France with imposition of fine. The Islamophobia in the West keeps assuming different facets. The question is, whether it is Islamophobia or a war against Islam that drives extremist reactions from certain elements in the West!
