Inauguration of TAPI gas pipeline project on December 13

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The landmark gas pipeline project Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India (TAPI) will be inaugurated on December 13.

The ground breaking ceremony of 1,735km long project will be held in Turkmenistan.

Addressing an Independence Day  ceremony at Turkmenistan’s embassy in Islamabad, the minister said the project was significant for economic growth of who region which will further expand coordination between four countries.

He further added that TAPI is necessary for meeting Pakistan’s energy demands and it would take the existing relations between Pakistan and Turkmenistan to a next level.

On the occasion, Turkmenistan Ambassador to Pakistan Atadjan Movlamov said the arrangements have been completed for the inauguration ceremony in next month.

He said the project would be beneficial for economic development of the region.
