MUNICH (News Desk) – World powers Friday agreed to cease hostilities in Syria, in an extraordinary development towards peace in war torn country, with in one week.
As many as seventeen countries decided take immediate steps for cessation of hostilities, at talks held in Munich. United States Secretary of the State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov co-hosted the talks.
The agreement doesn’t include any operation underway against Islamic State militant group, which has established a Khilafah in part of Syria and Iraq.
Talking to newsmen, Kerry said “from now on everything depends on the steps taken on ground.”
He said that we want to see talks between President Bashar al-Asad and rebel groups as soon as, while adding that what we have seen so far here are words on paper.
We hope the agreement agreed on here would be implemented by Asad, rebels and other groups like Hezbollah, he said.
