Modi to mark maiden Saudi Arabia visit in April

NEW DELHI (News Desk) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Saudi Arabia in first week of April this year, on his way back home from United States.

According to Indian media reports, this would be Modi’s maiden trip to the Kingdom which is expected to revolve around improvement of economic and defence ties of two countries. Manmohan Singh was last Indian Prime Minister to visit Saudi Arabia in 2010.

Earlier on Monday, Saudi Foreign Minister Adal al-Jubeir reached New Delhi on one-day trip to finalise the matters related to forthcoming meeting between King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Narendra Modi in Riyadh.

Modi is scheduled to visit United States from March 31 to attend a nuclear security summit to be hosted by US President Barack Obama.
