SHARJAH – In the final of the tri-nation series, Pakistan delivered a brilliant bowling performance to defeat Afghanistan by 75 runs.
The match was played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, where Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and opted to bat first. Pakistan scored 141 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Openers Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub started the innings but failed to provide a solid start. Farhan was dismissed without scoring, while Ayub managed 17 runs.
Pakistan’s third wicket fell at a total of 51 runs when Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for 27. Hassan Nawaz scored 15, Mohammad Haris 2, Salman Ali Agha 24, Mohammad Nawaz 25, and Faheem Ashraf 15 runs before getting out.
In reply, Afghanistan were bowled out by 66 runs.
Mohammad Nawaz picked up five wickets including a hat-trick.
In this UAE-based series, both Pakistan and Afghanistan had won one match each in their earlier encounters, while hosts UAE were knocked out of the tournament after losing all four matches.
