DHAKA (Web Desk) – At least two diplomats were killed and over 30 others were injured when unknown gunmen attacked a restaurant in Bangladesh’s capital on Friday.
According to the police, the restaurant is popular with foreigners diplomats.
Bangladeshi media reported that a group of up to nine gunmen had entered the Holey Artisan Bakery cafe and started firing.
The US Embassy in Dhaka said on its Twitter feed that there were “reports of shooting and hostage situation”.

Several hostages are reportedly being held by the gunmen and it is still not clear if there have been any casualties as a result of the shooting.
Earlier on Friday, Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for killing a Hindu priest in his temple in southwestern Bangladesh.
