LAHORE (News Desk) – The whole world was left with open eyes on Thursday when #SaveTwitter became a trending topic on the micro-blogging network, Twitter, with over 100,000 people tweeting that the company was set to shut down in 2017.
However, the Twitter administration cleared the air on this issue while responding: “There is absolutely no truth to the claims whatsoever.”
Although, it was still not clear that who had originally started this hashtag, hundreds of thousands of people around the world expressed disgust to any such plan.

I really wonder who constantly gives #twitter a bad name, spreads rumors, or highlights its unprofitability. TWITTER IS GREAT. #savetwitter

Many users claimed that the reason behind shut down move was the recent criticism against Twitter over the presence of bullying trollers. Critics said that the company was taking reasonable steps to counter such users.
It is also worth mentioning here that while the rumour was circulating one on Thursday, Twitter’s shares rose 3.6 percent to $19.73.
