Three-day anti polio drive starts in KP, Balochistan, Hyderabad amid tight security

PESHAWAR  (Online) – A three-day anti-polio drive has started today in Khyber-Pakhtunkhuwa and Balochistan amid tight security arrangements, to ensure peaceful conduct of the campaign.

According to Emergency Operations Center in Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa, more than one million children below the age of 5-years would be administered anti-polio drops in 13 districts of the province, FATA and Frontier Regions during the campaign.

The health department has constituted 3939 teams for this purpose.

Special arrangements have also been made to administer anti-polio drops to children of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDP), returning to their native areas.

In Balochistan, more than 1.6 million children under five years of age will be administered polio vaccination.

A three-day anti-polio campaign was also started in Hyderabad. More than 300,000 children of five years would be vaccinated during the campaign in ten talukas of Hyderabad division.
