Foreign Secretary rejects Indian claim about Kashmir

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry says India’s position on the Kashmir issue has been spurned by the macrocosm at the United Nations General Assembly forum.

In an interview with PTV on Tuesday night, he said US Secretary of State John Kerry, during his meeting with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the UNGA session, called for talks between Pakistan and India along the Kashmir issue.

The Foreign Secretary said UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the secretary general of Organization of Islamic Cooperation also expressed concern over the human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. Turkey demanded sending a fact finding mission to Occupied Kashmir.

He said Kashmir has been on the agenda of the UN Security Council with several resolutions on the issue, and India’s claim regarding Kashmir is a total lie.

The Foreign Secretary said India failed to divert the world attention from the Kashmir issue through the Uri attack. He pointed out how blame of an incident could be put on someone when even the investigation had not been started.

He said Burhan Wani has emerged as the leader of the new intifada in Occupied Kashmir, and Pakistan would continue extending moral, diplomatic, and political support to the Kashmir.

He said India itself is getting isolated in the world for its tyrannies in Occupied Kashmir.
