MIRPURKHAS – Five children on Thursday died as a fire broke out at an orphanage in Liaquat Town of Mirpurkhas, police reported.
Deputy Commissioner Mirpurkhas Mehdi Shah confirmed that five children had died as a result of fire incident at Bait-ul-Mal’s orphanage “Sweet Homes”.
Rescue teams reached the spot and rescued other children. Firefighters also arrived at the orphanage to extinguish the fire, Samaa reported.
According to District Officer Bait-ul-Mal the cause of the fire was electric short-circuit.
