KARACHI – Assailants who broke into Karachi airport on 8 June, 2014 and launched an assault, killing 36 people, will be identified through DNA profiling.
As per the details, the authorities will determine the identities of the assailants by exhuming their graves under the supervision of magistrate of Malir.
The decision for exhumation of the graves was taken after it was revealed that the assailants belonged to Karachi.
“Two of the attackers, Majid and Ahtesham are Karachiites, the latter is the brother-in-law of Ishaq Bobby, the suspected murderer of Qawwali singer Amjad Sabri,” the officials added.
At least 10 militants broke into Karachi International airport on 8 June, 2014 killing more than 30 people and injuring several others. The attack was initially claimed by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a banned outfit.
However, the investigation on the contrary suggested that the militants belonged to Uzbekistan.
