The music industry welcomed Selena Gomez back with open arms at the AMAs to accept her award for the Favourite Female Pop/Rock Artist, according to sources.
After stepping out of the spotlight for quite a while tending to health-related issues, the pop singer made her first public appearance at the AMAs three months later to accept her award.
Lady Gaga broke down in tears, quite possibly cheering louder than anyone in Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater, while Hailee Steinfeld met Selena with an embrace as she walked off the AMAs stage.
Taylor Swift also couldn’t help freak out about her BFF’s big win, sharing a video to her Instagram story of the “Bad Blood” singer yelling with pride at her television, reportedly.
Gomez told the audience, “All I can say is I’m so grateful that I have the opportunity to be able to share what I love every day with people that I love. I have to say thank you so much to my fans, because you guys are so damn loyal, and I don’t know what I did to deserve you. But if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken. That’s one thing you should know about me: I care about people. And this is for you.”
