Veteran singer Ghulam Hassan Shaggan passed away

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Pakistani classical singer of the Gwalior Gharana, Ghulam Hassan Shaggan passed away according to his son Mazhar Shaggan, because of cardiac arrest.
Veteran singer passed away in the ambulance while being taken to the hospital.
Shaggan, who was born in Amritsar in India, was 85 years old at the time of his death and has 5 sons and 2 daughters. Among the several titles and awards that have been bestowed upon Hassan include the Sangeet Samrat which he received at the music conference in Calcutta in 1962. He also received the Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz from the Pakistani government in recognition of his work in the field of music.
