EDINBURGH – A man has been charged with fraud and wasting police time after a Bentley reported stolen in Scotland’s hilly capital was found in Pakistan, according to local media reports.
A break-in was reported at a house in The Murrays Brae, in the south of the city, on May 22. The car, which is said to be worth more than £55,000, was reported as being taken.
According to a report in STV News, the Scottish police discovered the car had been placed in a shipping container that left London on May 2 and had docked in Pakistan on May 26.
Detectives established no crime had taken place in relation to the car being stolen.
34-year-old man was charged with fraud and wasting police time last week and is due to appear in court at a later date.
However, the identity of the man was not released by the police.
