Kulbhushan Jadhav confessed to being a spy during meeting with family, claims Indian media

NEW DELHI – Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav confessed to his role as an Indian spy and terrorist during the recent meeting with his mother and wife in Pakistan, according to reports by Indian media.

During the meeting with his mother Avanti and wife Chetna on Monday at Foreign Office Islamabad, Jadhav confessed to carrying out espionage and engineering a spree of terror attacks in Pakistan, the Times of India reported.

To the untoward disclosure, Jadhav’s mothers showed dismay and advised him against it.

“But why are you saying all this? You were doing business in Iran from where you were abducted. You must tell the truth,” his mother grilled him after the revelation.

Jadhav, who was arrested by Pakistani authorities in March 2016, was allowed to have a meeting with his family as a humanitarian gesture which lasted for almost 40 minutes.

Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh, accompanied Jadhav’s family and were present during the meeting, however, he was not allowed to hear or speak during the meeting.

Pakistan’s Foreign office also clarified that the meeting was not the last one as Jadhav’s case was pending before the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
