LAHORE – Veteran pacer, Asmavia, the highest wicket-taker in the ICC Women’s World Cup in England, has announced her decision to quit all forms of international cricket.
Iqbal, who took eight wickets from six games in the world cup, took to Twitter, announcing the end of her career as an international cricketer. She wrote as: “Finally after serving Pakistan for more than 14 years today I want to end my career at a high note So announcing my Retirement from International cricket (all formats )”.

In 2005, Asmavia Iqbal had made her international debut against Sri Lanka. She is the first woman cricketer in history who bagged a T20I hattrick when she dismissed England’s Sarah Taylor, Arran Brindle, and Danielle Wyatt in 2012. The pace bowler took 70 ODI and 44 T20I wickets.
She thanked all her fans, fellow players, and the coaches for being part of her wonderful journey.
