SHARJAH – Islamabad United won by eight wickets against Karachi Kings in its chase of 154 runs at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
United’s openers, Luke Ronchi and JP Duminy played very well in the initial overs and destroyed Kings’ bowling attack as the former scored the fastest half-century in the Pakistan Super League 2018.
They chased the target 154 runs in 17.2 overs with the loss of two wickets.
For Kings, Khurram Manzoor and Babar Azam, complimented with the late power hitting of wicket-keeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan, Karachi Kings posted 153-run score against Islamabad United.

Sent into bat first, Kings lost an early wicket when Joe Denly was bowled by Sami in the second over after scoring four runs.
Opener Khurram Manzoor was joined by Babar Azam in the centre who steadied the innings, taking their side to the reasonable total. Manzoor scored 51 off 41 while Azam made 55 of 53 balls.
For Islamabad, Faheem Ashraf bagged three and Talat Aslam took one wicket.

Islamabad United, the winner of 2016 edition, lost their first match to Peshawar Zalmi by 34 runs but defeated Multan Sultans by five wickets. They were handed a six-wicket defeat at the hands of Quetta Gladiators. They beat Lahore Qalandars in a super over.
On the other hand, Karachi Kings, who are top on the points table, defeated Quetta Gladiators by 19 runs and Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets. The side won by 27 runs against Lahore Qalandars. Their fourth match against Multan Sultans was washed out due to rain.
