JEDDAH – Women in Saudi Arabia have made a fashion statement that is bold and we are absolutely loving it. We are not sure about the views of the locals as the Arabic society is not open minded enough to give acceptance to this.
“They look like cleaners!” a tweet said.
However, on the bright side recently Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that abaya is not mandatory in Islam.
Designers such as Eman Joharjy are designing and making sports abayas more popular with time.
We think these are as modest as they can get. Women running in these abayas are inspirational. And further on, Saudi officials recently announced that women would be able to participate next year in the Riyadh International Marathon unlike previous years when only men were allowed to do so.
