Australia beat Zimbabwe by 100 runs after setting massive 230 runs target

HARARE – The Australian team beat Zimbabwe by 100 runs in their second T20I match of tri-nation series.

SF Mire of Zimbabwe was the highest run scorer with 28 runs on 19 balls. AJ Tye of Australia got 3 wickets in the match.

The Australian team set a staggering total of 230 runs for Zimbabwe after the latter won the toss and decided to field first.

The opening pair of Australia thrashed the Zimbabweans, with Aaron Finch making 172 runs before he got out on a hit-wicket.

D’ Archy Short made 46 runs and was also sent to pavilion in the final overs. The unbridled partnership led Australia to score 229 for the loss of two wickets.

This is the first encounter between the two countries for the ongoing series and apparently, Australia enjoys an upper hand., keeping in mind the target set.

The weather would not be disrupting today’s match as a sunny sky with a temperature of 23 C is set to smoothen the play.

Earlier on Monday, Australia defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets, putting an end to the winning streak of Green shirts in the T20 format.
