ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar Wednesday said the party accepted the challenge to overcome economic crisis from the country, and solution of the issue would be sought out to strengthen the national economy.
The previous government went to International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme for twelve times but his party was committed to improve the national economy, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said it was his aim not to go to IMF after five years, and to utilize every option for economic stability. “We would take those steps which bring development, political and economic stability in Pakistan.”
The expected finance minister lauded the improvement in the value of rupee. Economic Council and Business Advisory were constituted to take measures for strengthening national economy, he added.
He said the government was responsible to provide relief to the masses. Private sector would play a role in facilitating the people economically but the last PML-N government was a champion of privatization of institutions but it failed in doing so.
To a query, he said his government would strengthen the national institutions and to eliminate political interference in the affairs of institutions.
He said strengthening of national institutions would not enhance circular debt.
Commenting on PTI slogan to provide jobs, he said, ”I feel proud that his party raised slogan of providing jobs to unemployment during the election campaign.”
