Passenger offloaded from Indian plane after trying to enter cockpit to charge mobile phone

MUMBAI – An Indian airline offloaded a passenger from a domestic flight after he tried to enter the cockpit just to charge his mobile phone.

A plane of IndiaGo was preparing to take off for Kolkata from Mumbai when the man, who some India media claimed was intoxicated, attempted to enter the pilots’ area stating that he wants his mobile phone to be charged.

Following the bizarre act, the captain of the flight stopped the plane and handed over the passenger for violating the security rules.

“Following standard operating procedures the captain operating 6E-395 flight from Mumbai to Kolkata (September 24, 2018) had initiated the offloading of the passenger on grounds of security violation,” a spokesperson of the airline said in a statement.

The accused, 35,  was taken to airport police station and he was released after questioning.

Recently another incident of such kind occurred when a passenger of Delhi-Patna flight tried to open the rear door of the plane mid-air. The man was stopped from doing it by the crew members after another passenger raised the alarm.
