ISLAMABAD – With a broom in hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated on Saturday Clean and Green Pakistan campaign by sweeping part of the floor at a private college in Islamabad.
Addressing the ceremony, PM Imran said that Pakistan stood at the seventh slot in the list of the countries affected by global warming and tree plantation drive under the supervision of federal government would help curb the issue along with dealing the drought condition.
The premier expressed that in Europe, people live healthy because of the clean environment.

He asserted that the PTI government planted one billion trees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa receiving international recognition of this drive.
He said that the government now targets to plant ten billion trees across the country.
The PM hoped that under the cleanliness drive, sewerage and sanitation system would be improved not only in cities but also the slums and the villages.
Adviser to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said it is a movement to make Pakistan clean and green through changing mindsets and behaviors of people. He said this movement reflects new Pakistan.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a countrywide cleanliness campaign will be launched on October 13 as part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s policy for a clean and green country.
The premier said the countrywide five-year campaign includes “changing mindsets” towards cleanliness, creating dumping sites for waste, provision of public toilets, and starting a volunteer scouts programme to help support the campaign.
