'Fawad Khan is like my family,' Sonam Kapoor speaks out for Pakistani actors working in India

MUMBAI (Web Desk) - Bollywood diva Sonam Kapoor, who is known for her candid opinions no matter its about growing intollerance in India or meat ban, has once again opened up for Pakistani actors working in Indian film industry.

India's extreme rightist political party Shiv Sena had warned Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan over working in Bollywood movies. The party also halted music concerts of Pakistani singers Ghulam Ali Khan and Atif Aslam.

 

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sonam Kapoor said Fawad Khan is like my family and I have many best friends in Pakistan too, I want all of them allowed to work her just like Indian artisits are allowed to perform worldwide.

She further stated that If anyone is Pakistani or Indian it doesn't matter, this divide and rule concept was once used by British rulers in India.

My father and Piryanka Chopra have recently worked in Hollywood movies and nobody forbade them, I want the same situation prevailed here in Bollywood, the actress maintained.

She categorically condemned all type of intolerance saying extremism based on religion, sex or caste is not acceptable specially for the countries like India.
