Manto to hit the screens with lead actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui
After the huge success of Pakistani filmmaker Sarmad Sultan Khoosat's Manto which was screened in theaters all over Pakistan as well as the Kolkata International Film Festival last year, fans have been awaiting another much-anticipated version of the works of the blunt and bold writer from the past.
Directed by Nandita Das and starring Bollywood method actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, everybody has been excited to get to know the above-mentioned star will be roped into playing the lead.
Just recently, the actor shared a 6-minute short prelude to the film, titled In Defence of Freedom, on his Twitter account. In this video, Nawaz as 'Manto' can be seen talking about freedom of expression with a bunch of students at a university boldly and effortlessly, with a rare honesty and ease. This excerpt has received an overwhelming response from all over and was screened at the India Today Conclave 2017, last Saturday.
