SRINAGAR – Indian forces on Monday arrested 9 Kashmiri boys after they allegedly unfurled Pakistani flag at tourist resort Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The arrested youth had travelled to Pahalgam for a picnic when the Indian police took them into custody, seized their vehicles and flags. According to KMS, they were also booked under fake cases.

Police sources identified the arrested youth as Adil Ahmed, Mayeen Ahmed, Muhamamd Israr, Aqib Ahmed, Javaid Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Suhail Ahmed, Abdul Wahid and Muhammad Abbas.

Intense clashes between students and Indian troops also erupted after pro-freedom and anti-Indian slogans were raised at SP College in Srinagar. Indian police used brute force, fired tear gas shells on the protesting pupils, injuring many.
