ECP suspends membership of 336 lawmakers

ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan has suspended membership of three hundred and thirty six parliamentarians and members of Provincial Assemblies for failure to submit statements of assets and liabilities.

The suspended parliamentarians include 22 senators and 66 members of National Assembly.

137 members of Punjab assembly were also suspended. 49 members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and 13 members of Balochistan Assembly also faced the suspension.

The notification issued by ECP stated that the suspended members will be barred to participate in legislative procedures.

The suspension will be revoked after the members submit their statements to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
