FO refutes Indian claims of capturing Pakistani boat

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The foreign office on Monday categorically refuted Indian claims that it had captured a Pakistani boat having nine crew member from the Arabian Sea, off Gujarat.

“No Pakistani sailor or fisherman has gone missing from Pakistan,” the foreign office said.

Indian media reported on Sunday that the Indian Coastguard had captured a Pakistani boat with nine members.The boat was reportedly captured around 10:15 AM.

According to the media reports, the initial inquiry revealed that the crew members were fishermen and were sent to Porbandar for further investigation.

Tensions between the two neighbours flared up following the Uri attack and Loc violations. The international community urged the arc-rivals to engage in talks for resolution of disputes.

Moreover, the Indian media on Sunday claimed to have taken into custody a ‘Pakistani pigeon’ with Urdu scribble written on its wings, from Bamial village in Indian Punjab.

The pigeon, detained by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, had an Urdu message addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI).
