Health care is one of many problems facing Afghanistan even eight years after a war began to oust theTaliban regime along with billions of dollar in international aid. Afghanistan is still fighting to eradicate polio, one of the few countries still dealing with the disease. Health officials said that malnourishment increases chances of a child catching the crippling virus, therefore, they require over 10 doses of the polio vaccine to boost their immunity to resist the virus.
