US special envoy Richard Olson meets Gen Raheel Sharif

RAWALPINDI (Staff Report) - The US special envoy to Pakistan Richard Olson Monday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The meeting took place at GHQ in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed the matters related to mutual interest and regional security. They agreed to take up the Pak-US cooperation to a next level where two counties share a little more of their experience.

The stalled Afghan peace dialogue also came under discussion during the meeting.

This is the first ever meeting of Richard Olson and Raheel Sharif since the first took charge as US special envoy to Pakistan. He previously remained serving as US ambassador to Islamabad.
